Jaclyn Desforges is the queer and neurodivergent author of a short story collection, WEIRD BABIES (The Porcupine's Quill, 2026), which Quill & Quire called "refreshing, unpredictable, and utterly distinctive." She's also written a poetry collection, Danger Flower (Anstruther Books, 2021), and a picture book, Why Are You So Quiet? (Annick Press, 2020). She teaches creative writing at Wilfrid Laurier University and lives in Hamilton, Ontario. Jaclyn is working on her first novel, Eyelash Person, with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Christine Fischer Guy is a Toronto writer and journalist. THE INSTRUMENT DOES NOT MATTER (Wolsak & Wynn) is her second novel. She was a 2024 VCCA fellow and is also the author of The Umbrella Mender. Her short fiction has appeared in Canadian, American and British journals and she was awarded a National Magazine Award.

Aga Maksimowska is the author of BECALMING (Rare Machines, 2026) and GIANT (Pedlar Press, 2012), which was a finalist for the 2013 Toronto Book Award. Her stories and essays have been published in the anthology Polish[ed]: Poland Rooted in Canadian Fiction, Brick, The New Quarterly, The Humber Literary Review, Room, White Wall Review, The Lincoln Review, The Globe and Mail, and elsewhere. She lives in Toronto with her partner and kids, where she is a basketball mom, a high school guidance counsellor, and an obsessive chronicler of the Polish Diaspora.
