Gary Barwin is a writer, musician, and multimedia artist and the author of thirty-five books of poetry, fiction, and essays. His novel Yiddish for Pirates was a national bestseller, was shortlisted for the Giller Prize and the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction, and won the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour and the Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Fiction. Nothing the Same, Everything Haunted: The Ballad of Motl the Cowboy was chosen for Hamilton Reads, won the Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Fiction, and was shortlisted for the Vine Award for Canadian Jewish Literature for Fiction. The winner of the League of Canadian Poets’ Life Membership Award, he has been twice shortlisted for their Spoken Word Award. Barwin lives in Hamilton, Ontario.

Sonal Champsee’s short fiction and essays have been published by magazines such as The New Quarterly, Today’s Parent, and the Toronto Star. Her debut novel, Everyone Can’t Be Wrong, was shortlisted for the 2022 UBC/HarperCollins Canada Best New Fiction prize. Sonal is a lifelong Torontonian, holds an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC and runs the Dear Abby-style writing advice newsletter and podcast, Writer Therapy.

Alexis Stefanovich-Thomson is the author of the Patrick Bird Mystery Series. The series’ first book The Road to Heaven, was nominated for an Edgar Award and a Shamus Award. The second book, Opposite Sully’s Gym was released in 2026. Alexis is a past winner of the Black Orchid Novella Award and the Crime Writers of Canada Best Crime Novella Award. He placed third in the Toronto Star’s Short Story Contest in 2022 for his story “The Unfinished Book”. Alexis lives with his partner in Toronto.
